Frequently Asked Questions
A Swiss based, for impact limited company empowering people and organizations to make a lasting and positive impact on society. We do that by connecting them to impact projects around the world via Internet.
Causedirect is a Swiss limited company (“Société Anonyme” – SA) with a capital of CHF 100’000. The firm is a purpose, impact driven organization, meaning that profit is not the primary objective. Causedirect commits to give back 10% of its profits to charities of its choice and aims to increase that portion up to 30%.
85% of workers in the world are not happy at work.
We believe our technology can help improve people’s working lives and advance social change.
We believe that employee disengagement and unhappiness at work is an issue that needs to be urgently addressed.
We have designed a platform that allows companies to transform their employee experience by giving it meaning and allowing employees to contribute to society and have an impact.
There are five good reasons for that:
- First, the donation is sent directly to you, without transiting through an intermediary.
- Causedirect strives to broadening your donor base. With Causedirect’s corporate partners, you will increase awareness of your causes among a larger audience and eventually meet if not exceed your fundraising goals.
- Thanks to Causedirect, fundraising becomes simple, and this will help you focus on your core activity: creating and managing your projects.
- With Causedirect, your financial risk is minimal: you pay only based on the funds you get. Only electronic payment fees are due. These processing fees (e.g.: credit card, Stripe…), are lower than those you would otherwise get on a stand-alone basis.
- You will be in good company as we only select the most impactful charities around the world.
If the cause is not already registered, you simply have to ask the charity to contact your organization via the website. Prior to registering, the cause will have to comply with your steering committee selection criteria. If it passes this test with success, then the cause or the charity will have to fill out a registration form. It will take between three to five business days before being displayed on the site. If you represent a charity, we advise you to be as precise as possible. Causedirect will give you all the tools to post your cause in the most professional and efficient way. The more concise you are, the better.
Yes. All charities will have to comply to your steering committee selection criteria before filling out a registration form.
The charity must pass the self-assessment test and then provide all information requested in the registration form. The project, in turn, must be supported either by an eligible charitable organization, or an eligible company. A project cannot be supported only by an individual.
By creating your profile (meaning by registering you as a user), you will be able to visualize your donations on a consolidated basis and see volunteering availabilities. You would then be able to better manage your social engagement and eventually make it visible to your colleagues to inspire them to do the same.
Be concise and clear: It seems obvious, but many campaigns are not. Also avoid grammatical errors and misspellings. Make sure that your payment details are correct
Be visual: Adding a short video describing your project or the cause you want to support will help boost your funding. Arouse emotions without being weepy.
Be informative: The more information on the project or on the cause is accessible to the potential donor, the more comfort he or she will get and the more likely he or she will give.
Be persuasive: Show how organized you are as a charity and show your impact, be it on health, on the environment or be it social impact. Explain to people why you are worth supporting.
Be grateful to your donors. Send them a personalized thank you letter; keep them posted on your progress. All they want is to help you so don’t deceive them by ignoring their gift, even if it’s a small sum.
Show what impact a donation will have on your project or on the organization you are supporting rather than looking needy. People don’t buy a Beetle because they feel sorry for Volkswagen.
Invite your colleagues to engage alongside with you and spread the word and your enthusiasm. By getting their support, you will have a better chance of succeeding than working by yourself and you will be rewarded!!!
Yes, your gift will go directly to a Stripe account opened by the charity without transiting through any intermediary.
With this platform, donors will have access to a vast but also selective choice of causes. Furthermore, the charity will benefit from a special processing fee from the credit card, which could be up to 50% less than the fee it would pay to the credit card by not belonging to our network. In other words, giving through this portal costs less to the charity.

By eventually attending the meetings we have with companies that want to build a portfolio of projects related to your action. By possibly participating in the events that may be organized during the year to promote your action.

Causedirect’s aim is not to collect data, as many other platforms do to monetize them, but to help you make a lasting and positive impact on society. In other words, Causedirect is a purpose driven platform, not a data driven platform. The platform has been configured in such a way that your donation can be seen only if you ask for it. If you want to keep it anonymous, a number is associated to your donation instead of your name, so that it can still be included in the consolidated statistics of the organization. Should you want to erase all your data and cancel your account, this will be the case, including the link between this number and your identity. Only your anonymized data will be kept in our records for statistical purposes.
Yes, and we encourage you to do so in order to inspire your friends to do the same. Because what you do matters.
